Vat? Ve talk vunny? No Vay!

Ah, well - you damn yanks don't even use your "r"s as God intended!

Yes - our laws are pretty poorly enforced, what with hunting being such a big sport in my country (sadly), people see animals here more as "food" than something worthy of respect and protection.

But then again, I've seen cases where people have been heavily fined and even sent to prison for neglecting or abusing their animals. It only needs to be reported, and the prosecutors will be all over you like a case of the clap.

But in general, I think our police force is stretched a bit too thin currently to make animal protection a priority - what with all the crime doing the rounds.

I think its almost a universal issue - animal protection will always be neglected, relatively speaking, all over the world, because "no human got injured"...

Animal Planet is airing Animal cops:South Africa now...interesting....
people talk funny over there (I'm sure y'all think the same of us yanks)...

Are you're laws pertaining to animal cruelty as poorly enforced as ours (sadly what is seen on the varius american animal police shows doesn't reflect just how bad it is here...well at least in Pa.)

Thanks. They're surprisingly easy to make. I don't currently have any photos of the eruptions. The kids did that at school, and we didn't want to set them off and get them messy before they brought them to school. The one with the trees is my daughter's and that's the first one we made. Those trees were a bit tedious so I put the kibosh on those for my son's. I think i'll get his back out and we'll do some more eruptions and take some photos. That'll be fun.

Microlights, huh? Sounds like a blast. Maybe you could set up an album of your photos. I'd like to see those.

By the way, easy on the quality control measures, I'm sure they're fine and I wouldn't want them damaged. When there's a dent in the can, I usually expect a discount.

...is being won by China. Hands down.

As you may have read in the newspapers the last week, South Africa made a right ass of itself handling the whole Dalai Lama issue.

Little itty bitty background:

South Africa is hosting the 2010 Soccer World Cup. So, running up towards that completely overrated, overhyped, unnecessary and incredibly expensive event, together with the Norwegian Nobel Prize Committee, SA decided to hold a Peace Conference whereby sport is...

Motivational posters?

Don't get me started. What a load of crap.

The only good thing to come from them, is all the hilarious ripoffs.

So, I was walking to the shop the other day, and passed a lady wearing a top with the words "GUESS" embroidered on the front. So I said "Well, double D?"

At the counter, the young man doin' time at the cash register had a shirt on with the words "BILLABONG" written all over it. It didn't improve his performance in processing my order.

Going out, I noticed a woman swinging a handbag over her shoulder, with the words "GUCCI" on the...

Don't know if you guys have been following it in the news lately, but over the last few days, my country has gone apeshit on anybody not from here. Okay, not all of us, but the part who makes for good and gory newspaper fodder and bloody videoclips did.

Basically, South African blacks in the informal settlements have gone mob-crazy on Zimbabweans, Mozambicans, Nigerians, Somalis, basically, open season was declared on anybody not from South Africa.

Their execution method...
