Hey! Is something wrong with rep or my memory? For a long time now I have tried to posrep you for the great combo you display of love for humanity along with incisive thought and good humour. If I've simply forgotten that I have posrepped you too many times I formally want to apply for an exception. You are a major reason why I have stayed here. Keep up the great work and the superb attitude.
Well, Hey Pamela!
Thanks. I forgot to mention that it has carved acoustic chambers a la Jimmy D'Aquisto which improve physical balance (no drooping heads here!) but that's just frosting on the cake. I am extremely pleased with tone, timbre, and sustain.
HaHa! The knobs are indeed original and what an eye you possess! I'm assuming you mean the round ones in the writing desk area. Those are all of ivory and there actually is no unintended discoloration. The illusion is my fault and it was, in fact, this picture that gave me a more objective perspective to see that I'd installed the knobs incorrectly. The three yellowed ones are supposed to be on the three little drawers along the top. The whiter ones are all supposed to be as a block, book-ending the central doored compartment.
I wrote you a description of the wood, construction, and finish and exceeded 1000 characters.... by 2200. Oh Snap! So until I figure out how to sidestep the rules, that will have to wait.
hey jimmy,
Glad you love this place as much as i do! Fun and informative, a great combo. I love the guitar!!! as a fellow woodworker and restorer of antiques, i am quite impressed with your work.I do have a question tho, are those knobs original to the piece? Hard to really see in the pic, what is the wood? seems like they should be ornate metal, but i of course could be wrong
