I have nothing to add to the AMBH thread that you and others haven't already succinctly addressed. Hasnuddin has not scientifically explained his case well.
Please do close that thread. BMG.

Looks like this week you Down-underians are getting some meteor action we Up-abovians aren't.

I just read up a bit at Wiki on the Sombrero galaxy; maybe you can discover the source of its submillimeter emmissions. How big is your scope?
Rains have set in here for a few days, so I'm on hold for skywatching.

roger. i don't have a good East view, but there's always a rogue or 2 and if one gets in close enough I might get a real fireball. camera can record 12+ hours continuosly and I put useable stuff on the computer & then delete everything for a fresh start. will have another go tonight.

cool! wasn't it one of the irridium satellites that whacked into the Russian satellite? oooops. my roomy has a 5" Meade with a motor drive but neither of us ever figured out how to get it hooked to the computer to download satellite tracks. Apparently it supposed to beep an alarm & then track them while you watch.)
Your post in Skywatcher got me to put up the camera last night to try for some meteors, well...that and weather clear & warm enough to have a window open all night. I just finished reviewing the recording & I got nothin'. Might try again tonight if the weather holds.

    over....
