cold, oh, i love the cold, now and even love shoveling snow! i grew up way upstate ny, so i am acclimated.Well i lost my job back in 08 when the company sold and after unemployment ran out and still no prospects, i had to take a temp job doing live plants and flower displays. Not a bad job really, but its hot and the money sucks-but as a mom, i had to grab something. My background is in transportaion and logistics but i am not so sure i want to go back to that.70 hour works weeks and stress, but the salary was great. So i dunno, where to go from here, i want to be happy and not a slave to my work.My dreams? live in the mountains and having a woodworking shop restoring antiques. Now that would be sweet! the color pink? well thats the color of my cheeks when i think of you

I was always 'taken' as the last kid left, never chosen for my athletic abilities - this apparently could be a good indicator of Aspergers Syndrome. By the way, how dare you be older than me and seemingly interested in numbers, when apart from Sport, Maths was my next worse subject?)."

    Me too.
I have spent all my life trying to stop thinking in pictures-which "short circiuits" the logical system. This, so i can communicate-especially my many ideas- with others. I can often see the relevance of new idea (eg terra preta, fashion etc) long before others . This can be very frustrating, trying to brek this down into logic for the 'slow ones".
Now i find a European computer company is valuing Asperger's people so much that they are ONLY hiring them! O. for an environment where your different thought processes were valued and used. It is too late for me now.

Hello poetry fans.

The following are all poems from the thread entitled "Poems of Any Length". Perhaps half of them were written while I was a member here at Hypography. The others were written prior to that, and I just dragged them around with me, looking for a suitable place to publish them. Like, HERE!

Once again, I give the posting number from the thread.

Enjoy.

Hello, there, poetry fans.
For your literary amusement this evening, I have collected most of my quatrains from "Quatrain Corner" here in Hypography. I left out a few, as they were not all worth reading or remembering, and certainly not worth repeating.

Actually, this isn't so much for your amusement as it is for my sense of organization. I have a lot of posts out there in Hypo-Land (nearly 5,000 as of this moment), and sometimes I like reading my old stuff. IF...

Yeah, you don't know what you got 'till it's gone. But the mystery lingers. Why is it gone? The mystery tasks me, like a great white whale somewhere over the horizon.

I am speaking, of course, of the disastrous visit to Office Depot, as elucidated in my previous blog. I am speaking of the root cause of the fact that all my documents (actually, "most", not all) were erased from my hard drives.

The answer was staring me in the face from the day I got my...

I have a five year-old HP computer. It runs XP and it runs very well, thank you.

Woops. I had a computer. Past tense.

Though it ran long and well, and only crapped out while playing Alpha Centauri, my favorite game, I felt that it had slowed down over the years. No telling what was in there, gumming up the works -- viruses, worms, clams, spyware, spudware, cookies, gummybears and other mean and nasty stuff.

A brand new Office Depot had just opened...

What do you do with a drunk-en sai-lor?
What do you do with a drunk-en sai-lor?
What do you do with a drunk-en sai-lor?
So ear-ly in the mor-ning!

Thus goes an old navy ditty from the glorious days of sails and brass cannons. I never learned WHY they had to do "something" with the drunken sailor. Couldn't you just let him lie where he dropped? Or perhaps the ship was sinking--I can see where you might feel obligated to DO something with one of your...
