Thanks
Sort of....it is a TV screen (a 65" CRT projection to be exact) But all of the electronics were removed an replaced with servo controlled mirrors and LEDs, The screen itself which is comprised of three layers (a screen that provides the black and pixel separation, a lens which focused the images from the projectors and primary focal mirror, and a protective lexan cover screen) is now minus the first layer.
which yields the "beams" as well as a not caught on camera yet hemispherical holograph of colored dots....all of which flash, twist, twirl and move as well as change color. Also ditched was the bottom half of the unit which housed the motherboard, speakers, and served as it's stand.....It sat as a corpse eating up space in my basement for years till finaly inspiration as to what the heck to do with it came along..next step is to figure out how to sync it to my stereo so's it's colors and imagery fit my tunskies.
[edit] Almost forgot ....just wait till I'm finished with the lenses that were directly attached to the CRT's.....really big plans....should be able to make somethin cool with em....they're massively thick (4" across and nearly hemi-spherical) and yield
alot of magnification...t'was fun harvesting them and their cans as I did not know that between lens and CRT there is about a quart of a clear extremely viscous oily substance...which went everywhere after separating them
