Re: blue train

Yes, a classic jazz album.
Coltranis is indeed amazing. I just wish he would slow down sometimes so I could hear the individual notes!

Re: blue train

He has some slow stuff.
Last nght I was listening to "coltrane for lovers"
It's got those deep, drunk, mellow vocals, and coltrane plays fluidly over it . (Really awesome Ride tone on the drums!)
I was just fascinated when I actually heard him blow a sentence . . It was like hyper vocals.

Re: blue train

yeah, and I prefer the slower stuff really.
"Slow Trane" is a pretty mellow album and then there is "Miles Davis: '58 Sessions" which has a couple slow ones. I VERY HIGHLY recommend that album by the way. It is an all-star cast at one of the momentous times in jazz history. They absolutely nail "On Green Dolphin Street". Seriously, check it out if you haven't already!

Miles comes to trane and asked him about the increasing length of his solos...

Trane-
"i just dont know how to stop"

Miles:
"you take the f--king horn out of your mouth"
