MEMBER PROFILE: ORBSYCLI
This month, we decided to chat up our Lounge moderator Orbsycli ("Orb" among friends) - a guitar player like myself and of course a science buff.
Orbsycli, can you tell us a little bit about yourself?
i'm 17.....play guitar and compose music as well. that's pretty much my strong point. music, music theory, and the production of music. everything else is just stuff i'm curious about. (science-wise) hmmm...i love to learn and i'm on the computer pretty much all day since i moved here (california to florida).
Tell us something about your education - where are you at, and where do you want go go from there?
right now i'm slowly gaining credits toward my high school diploma through an alternative school. i could not take the normal high school here in bradenton, florida. though it was the richest school around, it made me sick. to be honest i have no idea where i want to go. all i want to do is make music and get paid for it. i may go to college for music production/recording arts...i may not.
What are your goals in life? What would you like to work with?
i just want to be happy, and use my creativity to my full potential. whether it's music, or faking a broadway scene in a park about two flies in love.
How did you find Hypography? What made you sign up?
i asked a friend of mine about eye anatomy, she googled it and found a thread on here. immediately i knew this place was great. "Science for everybody" not JUST really smart people...because that's something i'm not.
What is your favorite thing about Hypography?
the wide range of topics and fast responses from all sorts of people all around the world.
...and the least favorite?
that there's nothing i can enthusiastically critisize about this place
Why do you find science interesting?
it explains the universe around us. it's knowledge, and exploration. two things i love. i just love to learn, and know the truth.
Okay, if you could name a star after someone (not yourself). Who? And why?
this is a strange question. to be quite honest this is just like naming a blade of grass. there are so many, and they are all relatively similar. but, to answer the question i would probably just name of after my best friend jian. we seem to talk about space a lot.
You play guitar a lot. What do you play, and how much?
i try to play just a little more complex, and a little more melodic every single day. seriously this is what i love, music.....making it, listening to it, experimenting with it. a brief tale was just something i improvised last night, i'm listening to it now and wondering what i was thinking....15 minutes of just acoustic? ahh oh well, at the time i thought it was pretty cool. but i wasn't really there if you know what i mean.
And...when will you be posting your music at Hypography?
ah. lately i've just been working alone in my room on my guitar. havn't recorded much lately, in fact nothing at all. i just rented out a storage place where my bands going to move into soon, write some material and hopefully get that recorded soon or something. rest assured whenever i have completed something i feel is decent, i'll let you guys know.
