| Thinking | A Poem - Prince Edward Island Prince Edward Island The moment I stepped on this island, I entered a world of peace. The endless fields and meadows, Look like a green ocean. The wind blows across the fields, I surf on the little green waves. I breathe deeply the smell of the grass. And the soft breeze caresses me. I am as free as a bird flying over the waves, Looking back on the world of worries. Gliding between the blue sky and the green ocean, My mind is so broadened, That it could contain the universe. All the energy from the sun has been consumed, To make such an endless green ocean. Can anything be compared with the Nature’s beauty? A cottage stands in the middle of the fields, Like a lighthouse in the Atlantic Ocean, Does the man living there feel too lonely? Or does he enjoy the solitude and peace. Shall I be happy to lead a simple life here? Is this green ocean only part of the Sixth Symphony? As the thunder will brighten the whole sky. Birds and animals scurry to seek refuge. Note: Symphony No.6 composed by Beethoven. King Lee, July 2004. Prince Edward Island |
