| Explaining | the valid of science? science, explaning events happening in our life. but when we get into something fanasty, like time or whatever, is it valid? these are all beyond our brains and imagination, is it possible for us to understand? other "lower" organisms dont know as much science as we do (or we dont know), as we believe, that they are not intellignece enough to know the world. how about us? we might be stupid when comparing to some aliens. the limit of knowledge... does human evolve so our brain start to understand more complex ideas? existed knowledge also limited one self, we do not think generally, a person only knows what hes thinking and how he feels. everything is to us, nomatter how hard we try, we are humans, we think like a human. myself too, i think like a human, this post is actually in a view point of human. is everthing really valid, does space and time exist? or is it just a feeling of us?....... (i got so confuse that i dont really know what im posting) i think, science, is just a way to make sence of everything. (but only make sence to us)

![]() | RE:the validity of science? What do you mean when you ask if science is valid? The work of science is to organize the phenomena we see in nature and to use this knowledge to make predictions that can be tested and modify our environment. In science, the questions that are valid are the questions that can be answered. Of course those questions vary with time. In science, predictions that cannot be tested have no validity or no usefulness. Someday I though about a situation that you can find interesting. Suppose that there are two inhabited identical universes that cannot interact in any way. For science in one of these universes there is no meaning of asking about the existence of the other, because you will never be able to test if it exists or not, although you can ask that question and it has a positive answer. There can be things that our senses or even our intelligence can never touch, but the aim of science is to understand those which we can. Is it valid? Of course it is. How do you think that the computer you're looking at now was created? |

![]() | RE: the validity of science? hmmm tim , you are thinking in the right direction, i know everyone knows this, but still i like to say that we do not have any control over whats happening we cannot decide what should happen or what has happened, we talk about time and space we talk about time travel we talk c'se we think , now do we have control over our thoughts?? we know someone has discovered something but why that person is what we fail to know, actually he himself do not know why he found out something eventually, he was born and directed to think that way due to socio-bio phenomena , having more /less intelligence is in no way going to change the course of future, if u think ur intelligent or not its c'se u are born that way and do u have control over your birth? we identify things in this universe with four coordiantes, but why just 4?? or why not 3 or why not linear?? we take the physics of this universe and the behaviour of life for granted.. we wonder because we are born to wonder, and thats how universe wants to be not c'se thats how we think!, i hope you are getting what im trying to say, but that shouldnt stop us from being curious c'se thats how we are.. these thought will never be answered as long as you have a short sight of your life time, just think you are eternal, no death, will being less intelligence matters??, because you continue to live nomatter what you are. the psycology of less and more comes only on earth and not in space and definetly not for hyperdimetional travellers , so as long as you think like human who in every word he speaks has a signature of death( yeah thats the hidden fear in everyone!) so we like to compete get ahead, get above , get richer etc,, but ultimately GET where(relative to this universe)?? im talking about this...so never feel inferior , you are what you are , if you wanna think like a human ,,, how can you blame yourself??, ( i'm sorry if my posts are confusing or erratic , i actually believe these things need to be interactive and live rather than exchanging views on posts) |
