here's a question..i can't see any answer to

There is a vegan who is given the option to either eat a fertilised egg or eat a chicken..if he doesn't eat one then they are both killed...so which one does the vegan choose?
does he sacrifice the egg to save the chicken or vice versa ?

That both the egg and the chicken die....if they don't eat one..... but then again, lets make it so the vegan dies aswell if they don't eat one...

Re: here's a question..i can't see any answer to

Right. I wasn't being deliberately obtuse by asking for that clarification.

If there were no sanctions specifically against the vegan then their course of action would, I believe, be determined by their motivation in becoming a vegan. (I am assuming here that you are using the term vegan to describe their dietary habits, not their reason(s) for those habits.) Thus there are, in my opinion, several correct answers to this apparent dilema, but only one to match each particular motivation.
If they believe something akin to 'all life is sacred', they will choose to eat the egg, since it is 'less' alive.
If they believe animal products are unhealthy they will be indifferent to the fate of either egg or chicken.
If they believe animal products are unhealthy, but have some concern over animal life, they will eat the egg, because it has less volume. (Hard boiled of course, to reeduce the risk of salmonella.)
If they are wedded to an idea of 'realising your potential', they will eat the chicken. It has already advanced as far as it can, the egg has an entire developmental opportunity ahead of it.
If they are going to die as well if they do not eat one, they will likely opt for the egg, for a one of the secondary reasons given above.

In short, there is a satisfactory answer, but in each case it is determined by the motivations and beliefs of the individual vegan.

Do you specialise in chicken and egg questions?

no i don't really specialise in the chicken and egg questions ,i was just tucking into a chicken jalfrezzi (curry) and after several pints of beer it came to me...LOL...
It's a difficult one to answer though isn't it...which ever way it is answered the vegan has to go against thier dietary and moral beliefs and have to terminate a life to save a life...

Silly. He does nothing and both are killed.

Two Liberals are walking along when they hear moans coming from an alley. They walk in and at the far end they see... a fellow with all his pockets turned out, his clothing torn, laying in a pool of his own blood, his teeth scattered about like a broken box of Chiclets, moaning. The two Liberals take this all in and then one Liberal says to the other Liberal,

"The person who did this really needs help."

The proper thing to do is to kill the vegan. Uncle Al eats stuff that at least had the potential to either flee or kill its captors. With one exception: Green peppers. Uncle Al crunches into fresh geen peppers, their wonderful living juices flooding his plate, because he likes to hear them scream.

For me the question reduces to, "Who cares?"

Perfect description of the politically correct liberal. Thats a good one Uncle, I'll have to try and remember it. They say if you want to remember a joke, you need to tell it to someone else before you forget.............soooooooo, I'll be right back, as soon as I've had time to tell my wife this one.

Do you hunt tigers with a bow and arrow Unc? I agree though, about the green peppers screaming. Mark Twain said the same thing too.

Not a Liberal attitude at all, only a silly one.

First you help the victim, then you discuss what to do about the culprit. Otherwise that victim, seeing the silly attitude, seeing himself go unhelped and his aggressor helped, will very very soon "need help" himself. It's the way a good part of criminality originates.
