It even seeks to convince people that the professors who thus emerge are founding universities to examine how they, themselves, came into being by chance.

Darwinism regards the way that the chromosome in a living cell contains more coded information than a giant library as a miracle of blind chance... It claims that unseeing, unhearing, unfeeling and unconscious atoms turned into seeing, hearing, feeling, thinking and conscious human beings stems from the divine power of chance… For Darwinism, chance is a deity that works miracles. In these works you can see how the dark spell of Darwinism has been eliminated.

They used a thing called "free will" to decide to study and become scientists, artists, and yes, even Creationists. You are making the beginners mistake of thinking that a choice you make is related directly to evolutionary theory.

At the risk of sounding a little confrontational, I think we should either engage these guys thoughtfully, or not engage them. Please take this post as a constructive point, not an attack.

SG- You did exactly what the protagonist did. He misconstrued Darwinism to attack it, and then you attributed false arguments to the writer. In fact, you assumed the author was a Creationist, even though it was not stated.

Orb- you just sort of piled on.

Further, the core thesis of the author (although poorly articulated) is true. Darwinism is on the retreat. I have certainly argued that Gradualism is. That is what Punctuated Equilibriuim is- an attmept to address some of the holes in Gradualism.

I think we can chase away the folks with poorly structured arguments by thoughtful responses without using a derogatory style.
