what happens after life??

what do people mean die?? what happens when someone dies?? what do you mean that someone is dead?? what happens to their mind??

i read a book about near-death experience. it says that people see they got out of their bodies and see heaven and all that. thousands of them have the similar experience.

but how is this possible??? it cannot be explained by any scientific ideas..... maybe god really exists, or.....

i wanna see what you guys think.

RE: what happens after life??

The mind disappears, the body decomposes and is recycled. That's it.

RE:what happens after life??

To accept that we 'live' beyond physical death is not something that everybody can
understand - Religion aside.
Our mindset is formed by our predecessors and our ignorance and belief in 'knowing all
there is to know' is a fallibility of mans arrogance.

In a nut-shell...yes there is 'life' after death because I experienced it.
The comfort of seeing that life goes on cannot be underestimated.

RE: what happens after life??

dying is not simple as that. thousands of people see similar stuffs when they are nearly dead. read some articles or books about it. the mind doesnt just disappear.

there are tons of evidence that proves there is a life after life.
they are all experieces from some near-death surivers. they were nearly die and the brains and all that shouldnt be functioning well. but they actually saw stuffs and could tell those stuffs after revive.

also, a guy who is said to be dead and was sent to some place to be frozen. but after 3 days, he came back to life. no one can explain why. he told the events that happen during these days. he saw stuffs like heaven and life review, seeing god and all that "crazy" stuffs.

even someone who didnt believe in god or child who never know what god is have similar experience.

if god is true, sciences would be mostly meaningless...

RE: what happens after life??

think about it, what do you mean you dont exist, what do you mean your mind is gone. its really complex. what will the world like after your dead.

tell me, what is mind, how does it work??? how can we response to different environment?? why is there mind?? why do we think?? love, fear, knowledge..... we still dont know what all there are.

mass and energy can't be destroyed or created as we all know. i think, life (i should say spirit, actually) too, cannot be destroyed. but if you ask me can it be created.. i dont know... tell me if you have any ideas.

RE:what happens after life??

i think what this discussion comes down to, again, is the difference between evidence and proof.
There may be boatloads of evidence in support of life after death, or out of body expeiences, or any of the multitude of other theories in this area, but until there is proof, none of that evidence means anything tangible. The most feasible and logical explanation at this point is exactly what Tormod said.
There is no evidence which directly disproves the idea that there is NOTHING after death except decomposition.

RE:what happens after life??

There are situations (religion for example) where evidence cannot be provided.
After death experiences are another.
Man has a tendency to believe that he knows all there is to know (bar fine tuning of recent
discoveries).
The earth 'was' flat, people couldn’t fly, and speeds above 19k.p.h. would cause
asphyxiation (George Stevenson's critics).
All of these, and countless others, were real beliefs...'facts' at a time when people of the
day could not comprehend or understand otherwise.

To dismiss anything that does not provided evidence is to believe that it cannot possibly
exist.
That frame of mind is no different than it was 300 years ago and we've all seen how wrong
people can be about the ways of the world.

The mind is only organic matter that, driven by minute electrical impulses, has the capacity
to outwit a machine which can process billions of calculations a second (Gary Kasparov v
Deep-Blue).
This organic matter (and everything else that we know of) is made up of atoms.
Atoms are compressed forms of energy that when split provide enormous amounts of heat
and light with no residual matter (or evidence that we can see).
So it's safe to assume that we are compressed energy, as is all other matter.
To understand this fact is to open our minds up to all other possibilities however
implausible they may seem initially.
Trying to understand Life-after-death is incomprehensible to some but a path we will all
one day 'live' to experience (pun intended).
Yes, I've seen it. Yes it's real....as real as our compressed energy bodies.
What was it like?
It's a place where I wondered 'where have I been' as opposed to 'where am I' , because I
had returned to the place that I came from.
That was the strangest part...knowing that I had been away but glad I was back.
Just like returning home after an exhausting holiday.
Evidence?....none.
But I don't need any...I experienced it.
Peoples disbelief will one day be disproved, guaranteed, but by then the issue of evidence
will be null and void.

The possibility of an illusion did not ever passed through your mind regarding your expirience from "beyond"?

RE:what happens after life??

proof? where does proof come from? experiences, people all observe similar near-death experiecne, is that a proof??

if not, what is proof?

life after life can really be true, its just there is not a good theory yet, and people can't accept it yet. i know it goes against a lot of rules. but you cant really expain this. why do they see those stuffs? do they lie? is it just an illusion? but how come thousands of people see similar things and some childrens who dont know the god or someone who dont believe in the god saw the similar? maybe time changes ones memory, but, overall, the near-death experience all match.

RE: what happens after life??

Positivism is often very ignorant. It assumes that our senses are sufficient to understand our existence.
Now, here's one that may interest you Tim_Lou: A child less than 4, never having heard of the term "Angel" and even knowing nothing really of a God has a death experience and sees such things, only to find later on in life what these things were.

I believe in not merely a body and physical soul (physical life force) but also a spirit. An incorporeal entity.
