i suspect that there may be advanced understanding one can experience emotionally and immediately. say, i watch a film that i do not like. the dislike is felt and appreciated at once. only later do i begin to articulate why i find the film offensive. i wonder, though, is my symbolic reflection a translation of emotional intelligence or a validation of a meaningless chemical reaction? can raw emotion dictate a complex truth?

I find that when I watch a bad film, there will be specific moments in the movie that will seem ridiculous and I'll say to myself "that's so lame". And then later, I just put all those specific instantaneous thoughts together to build an overall summary of the movie.

I think that how we grade things is entirely dependant on what we are acustome to. We are all individual chemical balances. I don't really think anyone is more right than anyone else. we all just have our own preferances. Intellectual people are more likely to enjoy a more intricuit film, I suppose. Just more stimulation for someone who feeds off of more energy.

i am on the fence when it comes to absolute truth outside of the human condition. but i rarely find myself at a loss when examining my emotional reactions to anything. while my intellectual theories have sometimes met a resistance to logic, my emotional theories have not (at least in my own mind for what its worth). i do think complex, and even philosphical, thought is possible without the use of language.
