Your professor is making a very good point here. Many times in the middle of the actual teaching process, the teacher will themselves learn a, hitherto, unrecognized fact. From my own perspective, understanding is simply the ability to make a decision based upon present information. This should be obvious for the simple reason that as time passes, we all change our minds and perceptions
about some things we thought we understood. So in truth, understanding
can be at times, only a temporary state of existence. Remember;
