Re: Living Universe?

<Interestingly enough, even taking the biblical record completely literally, God only intervenes directly (beyond talking) once every several hundred years, so who knows?>

Remeber, that's the old testiment stuff... New Testiment is omnipresnet... in all, etc. According to Dr. David Hawkins the level of truth of the Holy Bible tumbled by 1/2 at the council of Nicea when they decided to include the old testiment.

Well, absolutely Jesus teachings are what Christianity is supposed to be all about, the more direct the better. Some oblique statement about Jesus not coming to refute the old but to fulfill it is quite a stretch to suddenly open the entire old Testiment up to being as good as Jesus teachings. There is tons of 'eye for and eye' stuff in the Old Testiment, and Jesus is all about love, forgiveness, compassion, etc etc. His main teachings {Jesus 2 great commandments} themselves refute a lot of old testiment stuff, so I really think he's got something. If you listen to the fear and hate mongers among Christian teachers, they all read the tea leaves of the old Testiment... every one.

FWIW, he calibrates 'Genesis' very high. He calibrates "Revelations" {also included at the council I think} incredibly low, down around grief and hate if I remember correctly.
