Thumbs up Re: Physics essay contest!

colorful!? a regular palette i'd say. i visited the contest site, cool idea, and read your entry. i still have the pdf of the full text to read, but i'm presuming it describes your crystal experiment for GR as you have written on it here several times.

i gave it a 10. someone really oughta look.

Re: Physics essay contest!

When a discipline won't perform an experiment because it challenges fundamental assumptions... you will know them by their fears. Euclid fell to elliptic and hyperbolic geometries, then all to Thurston's eight. Newton fell to General Relatlvitiy and quantum mechanics. Theory predicts what observation tells it to predict. Somebody should look. Always.

Re: Physics essay contest!

Hi U Al

I read your entry and enjoyed it! I dont know physics at all and did not feel qualified to vote. But your colorful use of words made it so much fun! Have you thought about getting into teaching? Or TV (flashing back to the "Day the Universe Changed").

Maybe I will go back today and read other entries for comparison. And then vote anyways.

Arrow Re: Physics essay contest!

i noticed al's entry had a comment saying that his was the only entry so far that was falsifiable. that's promising.

Uncle Al is a member of Mensa. Some Mensa newletters will report the contest story in their September issues. The Wanganui, New Zealand local group met in a telephone booth in the 1990's - two members. Every vote helps!
