Math riddles

I am going to start this thread for math riddles. I think we need to add some humour to the forum. So I'm going to start with this riddle (I'm sorry if this is lame)

What holds a square in its place?

Re: Math riddles

How do you arrange 6 9s so that they equal 100? (you can use addition, divistion, decimals... just no other digits)

Re: Math riddles

How about this:
999/9 - 99/9

which equals 111 - 11 = 100

Dang that was 7...

Re: Math riddles

I am on it...

here is next try:

(9*9) + (9+9) +( 9/9)

81 + 18 + 1

Now that is 6...and it should be 100.

Re: Math riddles

I got mortens' solution.

If a chicken and a half can lay an egg and a half in a day and a half, how long does it take for ten chickens to lay ten eggs?

Do not answer if you solved this before!!!!
