Damn, give Obama a chance, hell the honey moon isn't over yet. It took several months before we knew what a jack ass Bush was and we reelected him!

Re: the Obama Deception

Well I watched it. All of it.

They really could have shortened it to about 40-50 mins by skipping over the vaguely defined 'conspiracy' of the bilkenwhatever group. I have no doubt rich people conspire to get richer. Hell I am poor and conspire to get richer. All gangsters have pacts, and you always get someone else to do the dirty work.

They did point out the flip flop of Obama on many campaign promises, which have been very troubling. Troop withdrawl. Renegotiation of NAFTA/GATT. All those lobbiest apointments, all those wall street, fed reserve people, carry overs from the bush admin placed into admin positions. So much for 'real change'.

But there was also some misleading things going on. I am pretty sure the footage they showed in reference to HR 645 was of INS detention centers, whos construction was approved under Bush. It sure couldnt be footage of the HR645 stuff, being as that bill has been referred to another committee (as of mar 20 or so). And while one part (4) to meet other appropriate needs, as determined by the Secretary of Homeland Security, seems to be very vague, the rest of it seems to be an evacuation center. Our goofy gov Pawlenty spent a bunch of money remodeling a closed Nat. Guard base (in bemidji of all dumb ass locations) and offered that to Katrina people.
H.R. 645: National Emergency Centers Establishment Act (GovTrack.us)
And the nat. service plan is here (well at least one of the bills referenced in the film):
GovTrack: H.R. 1153: Text of Legislation, Introduced in House

While the film compared the above bill to the hitler youth, as a former government employee, I wish more people had the experience of dealing with taxpayers on the telephone, as they try to order gov employees around with the tired line of "I pay your wages, you work for me" when they are trying to get out of paying a fine, paying for a license, or following some rule/requirement. I couldnt tell them how to break the law while I am on the job. No doubt these same scumbags would roll me over if something went wrong. Meet me for a beer out of the office and call me deepthroat... sheesh.

I have no idea what obama is up to. I strongly disagreed with the bailout parts one, two and three. I think his talk of creating jobs will not produce. Temp jobs. I have no idea why he is planning on going forward with these bases stretched across europe, talk about dealing with some shady characters. I really think if this admin/democratic congress isnt careful, it will be 25 years before they get elected into a majority position again. Its like they have no idea why there have been so many republican majorities elected.

Re: the Obama Deception

I was only able to watch the first 5 minutes of it, but I agree that it is really to early to find out who obama really is. He has to deal with all the crap bush started, he must find ways to shut them down, deal with the financial crisis, work on taking troops out of Iraq (if he is going to) and lots more. I say we wont see who he really is till he gets rid of the bush administration crap and starts his own stuff. I do not agree with the bailouts.

This movie seems more propaganda-like than actually being informative.

Yes of course.

I don't need to wait to see “ who he is “ his 48 and I can look up his bio and see who he is just as I looked at GWB when he ran for president and knew what was coming. He has no secret agenda for world dominance . One thing for certain he understands this position in history,... if he can pull this country out of this mess we are in, it could mark a turning point for how government operates, this has the real players of the shadow government concerned.
How well he will do as president depends on how much support he can garner from the public. The intent of this doc is to spread doubt and fear nothing more.

Re: the Obama Deception

The only difference between a conspiracy theory and a legitimate claim or argument against a corrupt group of individuals is the weakness of character of the person making the complaint.

Conspirators aren't evil masterminds, they are just emotionally immature and ignorant people who have for some reason amassed some degree of influence. They are probably dumb enough to believe that their actions are justified.

If conspiracy theorists took on an educating tone instead of the melodramatic tone they do people would take them more seriously.

Most cases of corruption can just be put in terms of "Tribal morality" in which people define whatever their immediate social network does or thinks as "right" and whatever goes against that as "wrong". The tribal moralists still try to justify their behavior with metaphor ridden specious arguments, but their behavior clearly demonstates hypocrisy relative to any belief set other than tribal morality.

You have to remember that Bush was elected by five Justices and one Florida Secretary of State. A majority of us knew he was a jackass from the beginning.

The level of fear-mongering that's now afoot in the U.S. should have been expected by those of us who've been involved in Civil Rights, but has kind of shocked me.

I guess we need to remember that a failing movement will almost by definition become more violent as it becomes more marginalized. It's sort of a combination of a temper tantrum and death throes. I think we're seeing that now. I hope it doesn't last very long, because more lives will be lost.
