Because the "dangerous" list combines the entire laundry list of violent crimes, not just murder. I haven't taken the time to go through the list in detail for methodology, and I don't have the full 2005 document from this source. There are other sources as well that you can find on the internet: Rand has a site that gets you to statistics, and the FBI maintains lots of them too. The one I linked above is a consultant on the topic so he charges for the data he massages.

Hypography?

Hypography [n.]: A combination of "hyperlink" and "bibliography" - ie, a list of links to electronic documents. Comparable to discography and bibliography, but not cartography.
