Re: A Warning To Americans

Warn as you may, J.B., it's just another cog turning in the necessary machine of progress, and inevitability marches on.

Re: A Warning To Americans

Can someone please explain why some folks take so much pride in a place they couldn't wait to get away from and are seemingly terrified of going back to?

Your question is like asking why fluffy bunny A is proud of Location A when fluffy bunny B is trying to leave Location B. The question is silly.

Re: A Warning To Americans

What's the point? Are you [JB] trying to advocate the ejection of illegal immigrants, or some as of yet unannounced political reform, or what?
"This just in: An airborne, rusty metal object, shaped like a spiral-slide from a preschool playground and packed full of fireworks, found its way to a New Mexico gas station at the nation's southern border yesterday afternoon knocking over a telephone pole and igniting one of the fuel pumps. Authorities say it was probably the work of teenage pranksters because of the poorly incribed "Dye Ameriqua" spray-painted atop the ornate steeple-like fixture that caused the fuel-hose rupture as the projectile slid to a stop. Further investigation is currently planned so that restitution can be made for the telephone pole. The fire was extiguished before it could inflict any more property damage."

Re: A Warning To Americans

If you ever move out of state for a job or to go to school, one will often compare where you were with where you are. You may think your former favorite pizza is better, the beer is colder etc. That may insult the locals who feel the same way about their memories. It is probably a defensive reaction to the uncertainty of the new environment and the comfort and security in what you know better.

Re: A Warning To Americans

I was at the gathering in LOVE park yesterday. I met lots of wonderful Americans I'd never want to be excluded from the country. They had words of reform, respect, passion and love, but no words of anger. If that's the wrong direction show me to the door, please.
