Was Lebanon a test run for Iran?

Was Lebanon a test run for US operations in Iran?

Did anyone else notice all the bunker buster bombs the Israelis got?

Was it a successful test of US/Israeli technique or was it a failure to adapt to the realities of an evolving asymmetric opponent?

What did Israel accomplish versus cost?

What did Hezbollah accomplish versus cost?

If the US rolls into Iraq with mightiest military force ever to exist in the universe what will be the results?

Re: Was Lebanon a test run for Iran?

Very good questions.
One has to wonder what in the world is happening. Israel is said to have a top notch intelligence gathering capability, as does the U.S.A., the United Kingdom, and others.
And yet, there sat an enemy right on its border with weapons that "no one knew about".
The object of the conflict was said to be to get the two kidnapped soldiers back. So over 100 Israeli soldiers were killed to accomplish this, and then settled for far less.
There are many unanswered questions here.
I have often wondered if the area wars over the past years were not maintained in order to test out new weapon systems "under fire".
There is going to be an investigation here in Israel, but it would appear that the Minister of Defense, Amir Peretz, has appointed General Amnon Shahak (ret)to lead the investigation. To those that do not know, Shahak is the personal military advisor to the Minister of Defense.
SAY WHAT?

What weapons did they not know about?

The escalation of the conflict brought a drastic increase in the number of rockets raining down on Israeli neighborhoods as well.
