How about Mahmoud Ahmadinejad saying there are NO homosexuals in Iran like there are in America. Saying "In Iran we do not have this phenomenon. I don't know who has told you that we have it."

Absurd!

I want to think it's more to do with this nut than a cultural thing.

It is a cultural thing because it is a reference to the fact that homosexuality still hasn't been decriminilised in Iran yet. Queensland (if you like the pun, but it's actually named after queen Victoria after the state of Victoria was named after her) only decriminilised homosexual acts by consenting adults in private around 12/13 years ago and while Singapore has recently decriminalised fellatio and sodomy between consenting heterosexual adults it has not decided to decriminalise private homosexuality.

Be careful who you call nuts because half of the western population (those over 35) have spent much of their life in a world where homosexuality legally 'didn't exist'.

I stand by my statement that Mahmoud Ahmadinejad is nuts. Absolutely, completely out of his mind. Anyone who would deny the holocaust and call for the extermination of an entire people can and should be called much worse. I hope I didn't make the impression that the nation of Islam or the Iranian people were also so inclined. Homosexuals are being executed in Iran - and I will carefully say - that is freaking nuts. Everything Colbert says is a joke. If anyone actually took him seriously, you are a sad, sad person.

The arguement can not be against gay marriage but not agianst gays themselves. You can not say being gay is ok, but gay marriage is not. Its illogical.

Still, there are arguements against homosexuality. But it follows the reasoning that all sex is a physical act, and therefore is addicting. Any addiction is defined as the compulsive need for something that is characterized by a building of tolerance and withdrawl. Therefore, the more sex you have, the more you want in quanitiy and quality. Homosexuality is necessarily a farther step from what is considered "normal" and therefore a "harder drug".

So if you yourself are completely abstinent yourself because you find rightousness is purity, I can place no judgement on you if you believe homosexuality to be wrong. But you should also consider all forms of sex as wrong unless used in the process of procreation.

I am probably more impure in this aspect than most, so....BANG AWAY. But the point is made....
