Re: school project

What grade? Make colors, grow crystals; don't piss off the War on Drugs or Homeland Severity.

Cobalt(III) chelated by three symmetric bidentate ligands is a stable chiral three-bladed propeller. Such complex ions are easily optically resolved. /_\-(delta) is a right-handed propeller, /\-(lambda) is a left-handed propeller. An almost exact structural correspondence with opposite charges is possible,

Imagine growing crystals of two mirror-image Co(III) salt test masses, /_\-[Co(en)3] /_\-[Co(ox)3] and /\-[Co(en)3] /\-[Co(ox)3],

http://www.mazepath.com/uncleal/coenox.png

Inorg. Syn. 6 186 (1960)
[Co(en)3](3+)
en = 1,2-diaminoethane (ethylenediamine)

Inorg. Syn. 8 204 (1966)
[Co(ox)3](3-)
ox = oxalate dianion

J. Korean Chem. Soc. 30(4) 377 (1986)
Resolved tris(ethylenediamine)cobalt(III) was used to resolve racemic tris(oxalato)cobaltate(III).

And the third and fourth obvious salts. BTW, don't crib the graphics and call them your own. They are [i]incorrect[/], but subtlely so.
