Series and combined parallel circuits

I have to find total resistances and NRG flowing throughout a circuit. I just cannot seem to understand where a parallel circuit begins and a series ends in the combined sorts. I know how to calculate it (1/Req for parallel, + 'em all up for series), i just need to know what is what LOL
