I too took UncleAl's comment as racist (I'm not Hispanic)... but I do have to admit that it is the Spanish speaking people who tend to demand that we make allowances for them more often than other non-English speaking peoples... or maybe its just that the countries the others come from teach English to their children because they know how important English is to success in this world?

If you have to live in such a padded world as to not be able to see sarcasm and satire, perhaps a bit of critical thinking is beyond your grasp.

Really, people - anybody who took offence in Uncle Al's comments need to read it again - this time concentrating on the sarcasm, hyperbole and irony that was obviously missed in the first reading.

Go, UA!

What may be beyond the grasp of a few is that sarcasm and satire are often used as vehicles of disrespect.

I don't even know how UncleAl managed to start this one up....

Anyway, I believe that the warning is only in spanish probably due to statistics (More hispanics are killed by buckets than bullets ), but it could also be that most native born English speakers are able to recognize a warning label based on color, punctuation ( ! ), and homonyms (Aviso! = Attention/Advisory!). Whereas hispanics that don't know English may need it literally spelled out for them the "danger" of buckets... This is just what I think the US government is thinking

Don't be so hard on yourself infamous.

Mistakes are an essential learning process of life and 99.999% unavoidable .

At least you were able to admit you erred and that, my friend, is divine .

"¡Aviso! Niños pueden caer adentro de el balde y ahogarse. Retire los niños delos baldes aunque solamente tengan un poco de agua."

infamous, you have nothing to be sorry about. The label, in spanish, is there for a very good reason. UncleAl’s comments were indeed lacking facts but was quick to judge.
