Re: Greed
Judith Ann Johnson's 1999 doctoral dissertation finds that greed operates best at very low levels of wisdom, awareness and understanding. That the dumbing down of society paves the way to more efficient greed economics. According to Johnson unending craving for all things consumable = frivolous spending and a heartfelt appetitie for credit (which overtime as we are now seeing is not sustainable)
Julian Edney argues "Greed demolishes equity, simply you cannot have unrestrained greed and equity"
- what about workers rights, local environments and communities - existing levels of greed is beginning to overwhelm conscience, reason, compassion, love, family bonds and community - existing levels of constant greed are causing clinical depression and despair.
I'm no economist but I am a nurse with experience in mental health - I see where greed brings people and it's not a place i want to be.
