Re: Friday the 13th, 2029 http://science.nasa.gov/headlines/y2....htm?list89139 1) "On April 13, 2029, asteroid 2004 MN4 will fly past Earth only 18,600 miles (30,000 km) above the ground. For comparison, geosynchronous satellites orbit at 22,300 miles (36,000 km)." 2)"The closest encounter of all, Friday the 13th, 2029, will be a spectacular opportunity to explore this asteroid via radar." Not A Space Agency (NASA) is POWERLESS to consider a satellite mission for taking pictures, or taking samples, or hitching a ride for a solar-powered radio transponder so the thing isn't lost again. Man-in-Space doesn't make it farther from Cape Canaveral than Houston. If the rock passes by Space Station ISS FUBAR the ass-tronaughts are instructed not to look. There is no budget allocated for eyeballing much less taking pictures. 23 years is insufficent lead time for NASA to develop a mission. Present managers will be retired, so who gives a rat's ass?

Re: Friday the 13th, 2029 maybe it will hit a spec of cosmic dust that will change its course just enough to keep the friday the 13th omen going.

Re: Friday the 13th, 2029 I think that by 2029, there should be something discovered/invented to stop the asteroid from even reaching the earth.
