It's a large rock at the very least. It would have to be smooth to reflect so much sunlight. Odd.

Agreed. It seems to cast a shadow as well. I believe it's certainly a real physical object. I can't wait for the next pic of the area.

What substance could it possibly be made from that would be compatible with Mars terrain while reflecting so much sunlight? Surely it couldn't be an Iron based rock as there should be more reflecting rocks like these...

Part of something jettisoned during the lander's descent perhaps like part of the parachute shroud.

Something ejected from the lander works for me, then again maybe it's Martians driving up to investigate the lander
