Re: North korea

Lol, now who is "Captain Clueless", mike?
Got any links for us? I havent heard about any new type of missile. I heard North Korea was talking about launching a "weather satillite" and China and a couple other Asian countries were threatening to blow it up if they launched it. I don't blame them, North Korea's leader is very unstable and probably will try to launch weapondry or something else instead.

Re: North korea

Here's a link to a recent news story about North Korea and missile testing:

Quote:
North Korea has said it intends to launch a communications satellite between April 4 and 8, asserting it has the right to do so under its space program. Washington and its allies in Asia see the plan as a disguised long-range missile test.

The North's Taepodong-2 has a range that could take it to Alaska. But analysts do not expect the United States to intercept the rocket, a move Pyongyang has said it would consider an act of war.

Re: North korea

I rogue missile strike doesn't really worry as me as much as one of those "we want to live in the middle ages" countries launching a orbiting warhead and detonating it in space. A high altitude launch could do severe damage to what ever country it was detonated above not to mention knock out a huge number of satellites with the explosion and resulting radioactive cloud. The EMP would really be devastating, it could do irreparable damage to nearly every part of our technological society.

What country would want to do it or be crazy enough to do it? (besides North Korea obviously)

Re: North korea

Well, North Korea launched a rocket. They claimed it was a test model to try to get into space. It crashed into the ocean, saving other countries the problem of shooting it down. North Korea did tell its own citizens that it was successful.
The rest of the worlds leaders are deciding what to do about this new development.

Re: North korea

All they need to do is a get a small nuke into low earth orbit and detonate it and who ever is under it is knocked back to pre WW2 levels of technology, maybe further!
