| Rockin' | Re: Space Voyage #1 Chatter OK, I gave it some more thought. Basically, I want the evolution of the aliens to be thought out. If they have orange hair, fine, but how did it get ORANGE? (How did they get all that Pheomelanin in 'em? If they live around a brown dwarf, and melanin production is related to sunlight, how would they have developed it as a response to ultraviolet exposure?) If they have five things poking out their torso (like most critters on this planet) but why are they the same proportion as our limbs, and why is their tail vestigial? I think it's reasonably safe to start with "bilateral symmetry" and "most of the senses are on the "head" (there's a word for that I can't remember.)" that's okay, but I want explanations. If they are solitary creatures who come together only to breed, why is that? And how did they arrive at agriculture, much less spaceships? TFS ---------------- There are no stupid questions, but there are a LOT of inquisitive idiots. | |
