| Astounding Vision | UFO report Ok guys, I saw my first "UFO" yesterday. I've waited to see if anyone else in my area reported anything but so far no news. This is what I saw. I was driving on 23thrd street at 1410 Sunday October 25 between Market Street and the Airport. Off to my left I saw what appeared to be a bright white cigar shaped object surrounded by a slight blurriness. It's difficult to really judge how big it was or how far away but it was low enough to be momentarily hidden by trees. It had the flight characteristics of a helicopter in some ways. It was hidden twice by trees as I drove along and the third time it went behind trees I was unable to see it again. I had it in sight for maybe 2 minutes. It changed it's aspect toward me three times, at first looking like a cigar and as it slowly turned it become more of a small round ball and then as it continued to move it become more cigar shaped again. If I had to guess i would say it was the size of a small plane about 1 mile away and less than 2000 feet in altitude but this is pure guess work. I did see a commercial airliner fly close to it but I couldn't really judge which one was closer. ---------------- Michael Life is the poetry of the universe. Love is the poetry of life. | Understanding | Re: UFO report Hello Moon, The problem with UFO sightings now is with all the new tech and with area 51 we don't know now if it is a new futuristic air craft invented by our government or another government. Last edited by William Honey; 10-07-2008 at 10:51 AM. | |

| Explaining | Re: UFO report hi William, do you have any evidence to support your claims? Surely, somewhere down the line, one of these guys dead or alive would have had some DNA sequencing done on them. I find it highly unprobable that a forensic anthropologist or scientist would hold back that kinda information. The Bermuda triangle is an anomaly for sure, but what evidence do you have that USO's have been spotted there. I wouldn't even trust the accuracy of pictures{if you have them} due to the magnetic field. And , why does your super race feel the need to punish us? Is it about being good or bad???? the choices that we have made through out history, are exactly that;choices. The outcome could have been beneficial or not-we learn-we make educated choices thereafter.William, you obviously came to Hypography to learn about science, not science fiction. | |

I believe you are telling twice told tales about things that have pretty much been discounted many years ago. I believe every one should believe in something so I believe I'll have another beer. Seriously Honey, the stuff you are talking about was totally discounted by even the true believers many decades ago. where did you dig this stuff up? The possibility that an alien would be human looking enough to blend into our population is so remote as to be impossible, to actually interbreed with us is several orders of magnitude less likely. I can see the possibility of alien visitation (unlikely but possible) but for aliens to be that much like us is just not with in the realms of anything other than Star Trek. ---------------- Michael Life is the poetry of the universe. | Resident USSRian | Re: UFO report i thought i saw one today too, then i looked back to crosexamine myself, and what looked like a perfect UFO was a weird angle on a weirdly shaped, and surprisingly low-flying plane... Are you sure it had no wings and was not a blimp or a balloon of some sort? ---------------- And remember that great question that Pierre-Simon Laplace and Sir Isaac Newton, Andrei Markov and David Hilbert, Richard Feynman and Enrico Fermi, Albert Einstein and Edmund Halley did not come to ask throughout all of their dedication and work: "Who the hell is IMing me?" | Astounding Vision | Re: UFO report I wish I could have kept it in sight longer, it wasn't exactly what I expected a UFO to look like but it was rather oddly surrounded by a blurry cloud and it was very bright white. It moved and changed direction too quickly to be a blimp or a balloon, I kept expecting to see wings as it changed it's aspect to me but I never did. 2 minutes is a long time to watch an airplane and not see it's wings. I live in the flight path of our local airport so I see a lot of airplanes, commercial, private and military. This thing flew and moved like a helicopter. But I've never seen a bright white helecopter surrounded by a cloud. ---------------- Michael Life is the poetry of the universe. Love is the poetry of life. | Resident USSRian | Re: UFO report Could that have been a perception trick? the bright cloud being in a different place spacially then the object, playing effectively a trick on your perception of it? (i do a fair amount of photo and i do some magic to know how perception can play tricks on one's mind) ---------------- And remember that great question that Pierre-Simon Laplace and Sir Isaac Newton, Andrei Markov and David Hilbert, Richard Feynman and Enrico Fermi, Albert Einstein and Edmund Halley did not come to ask throughout all of their dedication and work: "Who the hell is IMing me?"
