Reading the latest edition of Nexus magazine, I noticed in the Twilight Zone column a piece about seeming dinosaurs in the Northern Territories. I've read before of reports of something like a gigantic monitor lizard in the area, that someone leaned on, thinking it was a tree until it moved but this is different.
It is thought from the descriptions of the most commonly seen bipedal versions, that these beasts could be T Rexs or Iguanadons. As most cases described cattle being dragged off and eaten, the latter is unlikely as it was a Herbivore. If it is not just a story it 'could' be true from the reactions of all concerned as there was very little heroics as you'd expect with fiction but mad panic to get as far away as possible as quickly as possible, whether man or beast (horses, dogs and men just bolted when getting too close to whatever these creatures were).
What interested me about this report was that although most incidents allegedly happened very recently, no photos or films were taken and all other physical evidence seems to have been lost.
The stories remind me of a film called 'The Beast of Hollow Mountain', which likewise was a T Rex or Allosaur, that came out of a swamp, killed and ate cattle, then returned there (Partial to the odd human too as reputedly the Oz monsters are).
If Turtle doesn't go Yowie hunting next year, perhaps he can hire a helicopter and fly over The Gulf of Carpentaria, doing a Professor Challenger and Roirema? (Dinosaurs possibly in the Congo and various lakes and other bodies of water but nothing in South America as far as I know, except hundred foot Aconda's).
Merry Christmas from The Institute of Cryptozoology!
