Re: Nanotubes used for first time to send signals to nerve cells Awesome Article!! A pat on the back and a beer on me GAHD! Cells that can grow on Carbon Nanotubes! The potential seems limitless! Rated 5 for good! What other possibilities besides prosthetics could this be applied to??

Re: Nanotubes used for first time to send signals to nerve cells As I was teling C1ay earlyer, The main work is apparently done by Todd Pappas, who also has done some other funky stuff with snake cells. They talk of working with Jim Tour to further this project, who heads a group that works in a few areas for nanotechnology. It's definatlyan area to keep your eyes on.

Re: Nanotubes used for first time to send signals to nerve cells I could easilly see this overlapping with the dawning age of cybernetics, imagine a computer you just think to intereact with. With the right tweaking these nanotube structures might even be able to serve as a sort of scafforld to help repair damaged nervos tissue, like retnas, cortex, possibly even spinal injuries. Or how about combining it with that snake reserch to make a 'new' sensing organ. I'll be happy with just a second set of arms though.
