Nobel Warming
I must say, pip pip, I've seen two distinct responses to recent news our earth might die before we do. One is nuts and the other worried. I cannot decide. Most annoying, others have. Not one of us expected our gas taint our air to kill us. Yet millions rise to cure us, change us, some to lure us to greener things, as if the earth ain't darker dirt and char in dirt might fix it. What fools took us here? These same fools guide us. I've seen two distinct responses to recent news our earth might die before we do. One is nuts and the other worried. I cannot decide. Most annoying, neither have we.

Re: TP Humor, Poems, Prose & Wit
I like to write poems, the rhyming ones most
I make them satirical, and read them at toasts
Poems about mates who are there to be wedded
Poems for ladies I wish to be bedded
Graduation gaffs and promotional prose
It's hard to be funny in eulogies though...
Now I shall try to lampoon Terra Preta
Does it rhyme with feeder or is the rhyme beta
If charcoals the answer to Heaven on Earth
Would Hell hold the best of the best of all dirts?
There's so many dead they must have lots of workers
(Though bad folks are known to be shiftless and shirkers)
We'll offer reprieve for a truckload of coals
Come save the planet - in exchange your lost souls.
3 posts.... Bwahahaha!

Re: TP Humor, Poems, Prose & Wit
Stephen Joseph (founder of BEST energies) is a drummer as some of you would know.
He has written a song about TP
I hope this link gives it to you
TheBiocharBlues.mp3

All
I am working at Pendle Hill Quaker centre on the Biochar Book that Johannes Lehmann and I are editing. However have had time off to do other activities.
Attached is a song I wrote with a group of people at a song writing workshop "The biochar blues". Our leader was David Roth a really well known singer song writer.
Roia Rafieyan, the singer, was part of our group. She has Iranian and American parents and is a music therapist. She has lots of soul.
I am not sure we will make the top 40 but I hope it gets the message across.
Feel free to offer new verses and use where you think appropriate.
Regards
Stephen

A Visit From Saint Sustainability
A Visit From Saint Sustainability
'Tis the night before Christmas
and all through the soils
many creatures are stirring
to lessen our toils.
With Vilsack in our stockings and Salazar in our caps,
We can all settle in for a short Christmas nap...
For planting comes early
and we need time enough
for our charcoal to settle
in microbes and duff
Kyoto will be calling
for carbon to the earth
which will leave us all smiling
full of great mirth
Then from the compost
there came such a clatter
I arouse with my spade fork
to organic matter!
The wee-beasties were popping
in asexual love
the hyphae were shedding
Glomalin gloves
the nematodes writhing
in a holiday feast
a cornucopia for all
from mighty to least
So all the pyrolysis
should scale up, but quick!
to make the Earth jolly
just like Saint Nick!
Thanks to all of you for this important work
Erich

Re: TP Humor, Poems, Prose & Wit
What has been is what will be,
and what has been done is what will be done;
there is nothing new under the sun.
Is there a thing of which it is said,
“See, this is new”?
It has already been,
in the ages before us.
The people of long ago are not remembered,
nor will there be any remembrance
of people yet to come
by those who come after them.
Ecclesiastes 1 : 2–11.

Biochar Rap
Here's the 'Clock is Tickin' ....hope you enjoy
Don
Clock is Tickin' (Bio-Char rap funk blues)
Words by: Don Steck, Tracy Rush, Erich Knight
Music by: Tracy Rush, Don Steck, Frank Skavenski
“Time is running out…the clock is tickin‘ ” (4x)
Let’s get it together for the earth takes a lickin’
Waitin’ for the day we can join the great circle
The web of life,…. Become part of the cycle
Time is runnin’ out .. The clock is tickin; (4x)
Let’s get it together for the earth takes a lickin’
The Kayapo Indians, they had to learn
To slash and char, not slash and burn
Put it in poor soils to make ‘em rich
Grew food for centuries without a hitch
They called it terra preta which means black earth
Puts life in the soil like organic birth
Lookin’ for an answer, but it’s not very far
It’s in the black earth called bio-char
“Time is running out… the clock is tickin’”(8x)
Now the char is full of tiny pores
That make carbon cribs for the bugs and spores
The fungal roots form an interstate
That helps all the plants to communicate
This web of life is so complete
That everyone’s got good food to eat
Puttin’ it back from where it came
The answers always been the same
“Time is runnin’ out…the clock is tickin” (8x)
(instrument solo for 8 bars)
We broke the circle with the smokestack lightenin’
And what happens next could be kinda frightenin’
We’re puttin’ too much carbon into the air
It’s makin’ it hotter everywhere
The ice caps are meltin’ and the sea levels risin’
We’re puttin’ too much carbon in the sky’s horizon
We gotta change our ways before it’s too late
Save Mother Earth from this horrible fate
“Time is runnin’ out…and the clock is tickin’”(8x)
Now modern man won’t have to work so hard
We can learn from the past how to fuel our cars
We’ll feed the earth… while we drive
Keepin’ that soil food web alive
The farmers be so happy and so’s the man
Cause the fuels be flowin’ and the carbon’s canned
The people‘ll be so happy near and far
Cause of good cheap food from bio-char
Time is runnin’ out…the clock is tickin’ (8x)
(instrument solo for 8 bars)
Take waste from the cities, organic and such
Waste from the farms…don’t make it mulch
Fire it up in the bio-char grill
Cause listen up people there’s no time to kill
We’ll keep it in the ground not in the air
Bio-chars the answer and it’s been right there
The irony to me I see....
Is that we learned it from our own history
Time is runnin’ out… the clock is tickin(8x)
Let’s get it together, for the earth takes a lickin’
Waitin’ for the day we can join the great circle
The web of life.. become part of the cycle
Time is runnin’ out… the clock is tickin’ (8x)
I can't get the mp3 file to up load.
any help, email me at [email address removed]
and I'll sent it.

Re: TP Humor, Poems, Prose & Wit
Erich,
I removed your email address from the previous post to protect your email from spambots. It's generally not wise to post your email address online as it only invites lots of spam. Instead, ask people to send you a private message through Hypography. It's much safer.
The song has cool lyrics, I'd like to hear it. You can use a service like fileden.com to upload the file for free. It gives you a link you can paste here (or anywhere) so everyone can hear it. (it's good for pics and video or whatever as well)
