Re: Beer

Quote:
My all time fav is Coopers Vintage, which is said to improve with age, so I have 18 bottles of the 2007 brew down and will slowly drink them over the next three years

I am sorry, but that looks deliciously invigorating, i'll have to add that to my list of the "to try" beers

ok, so i have been able to find pictures of Augustine-brau beers:

Oktoberfestbier

Maximator

Augustiner Dunkel

Augustiner Weibbier

And remember that great question that Pierre-Simon Laplace and Sir Isaac Newton, Andrei Markov and David Hilbert, Richard Feynman and Enrico Fermi, Albert Einstein and Edmund Halley did not come to ask throughout all of their dedication and work: "Who the hell is IMing me?"

Re: Beer

I was introduced to Delirium Tremens as being the 'worlds best beer'. My first impression was 'according to who?' it was a nice flavoursome beer and if you like it then I think you would also enjoy Coopers vintage ale, but the ale is a bit stronger and perhaps not as sweet.

Re: Beer

I had an excellent beer after work today. After tip it was $6 for a 1 pint 0.9 oz. bottle!
The Weihenstephan brewery claims to be the oldest in the world, started in 1040.

Weihenstephan Hefeweissbier Dunkel
Weihenstephan - älteste Brauerei der Welt

Very yummy stuff!

I was perusing the beer menu while at the pub and found this nifty little chart:

Beer Color

And a more scientific site:

Lovibond Beer Color Database

Enjoy!

That's personally very funny because I sat there memorizing the name for a while (as I was drinking the beer ) and I decided it was best that I write it down.

If somebody could have read my mind at that moment it would have outputed something like this:

"Wei...hen (think chicken)...stephan..er (yeah, like I can't remember it...er...)...so wei (think Chinese)...hen (cluck, cluck)...stephan (dude's name)...er....wei...hen...setaphan...er....wei...h en....stephaner...wei...oh heck, where's my pen"

Other beer i have gotten to try now:
German smoked beer - deleicious if you like smoked foods, i do, it's like drinking beef jerky

there was another one that escapes me, i'll have to message my friend, see if he still has the empties left...

Re: Beer

we have a huge store in in mass (bout 35 miles away), it has a full isle of imported beers, german, belgian, british, polish, russian, it's like a heaven, mini heaven, until you get to the register and it reads $63 but it was soooo well worth it (i had 2 6-packs, a 4 pack and 4 individual beers)

Re: Beer

All you guys on the east coast or what? My favs are (all local: )

Wild River Double Eagle Imperial Stout
Full Sail Amber
Full Sail Limited
Deshutes Black Butte Porter
Deshutes Cascade Ale

I tried brewing a couple batches myself. The first was a porter kit, which I burnt. It was better than the second, an amber with Mt. Hood hops which tasted like dish soap. My third will be like my second except that I will employ industrial cleaning agents.

Re: Beer

Yes, very on the east coast

I like local beers, they can be really good at times, but because you can't get them outside of the local breweries and only when they are on tap, i wouldn't really mention them here...

Gj South, i hope you can get some real hops that will smell and taste like they are supposed to (you can get the whole beer layout at this brewing shop in mass, those guys are the best, they will measure, mix and package everything you need, all you need to do is brew brew brew )
