How is this relevant? Conventionally, "spiritual" isn't interchangeable with "unexplained".

The modern myth of UFO's is sort of like this. I beleive that people honestly believe they saw or experienced something. However, it can not be fully proven in a scientific way. Such people are often read about in tabloids because of this gap between science and witness account. Picture if the star of Bethleham was a type of collective projection that stemmed from a source similar to UFO's. Many people would swear they saw something. Others acted on what they saw, leading them to the newborn child, Jesus.
