Opus Dei was founded in 1928 in Spain by Msgr. Josemaria Escriva and is both a Catholic lay and clerical group that exists today.

The Priory of Sion was founded in France in 1956 by Pierre Plantard. His story that it dates back to the Merovingian Dynasty is a hoax.

The two groups are not connected except in Dan Brown's brain!

WTF!
How can say that a university alumni is the most secretive organization in the world?
That's a load of nonsense in my opinion.
What do they do? Practice ancient rituals trying to summon magical powers??
It's just a bunch of people who want to one day hold powerful positions.
It's nothing more complex than a bunch of 8 year-olds forming a club in a tree house in Boo Radley's back yard.

Any money they have likely comes from their rich WASP parents and goes towards buying red candles and plastic skulls.
Stupid cults.
Thats what they said about the Nazi party.
