Question What is Your Power Animal?

Everyone has a power animal they are shamanistically linked to, on this planet of mysteries and uncertainties.

Perhaps you already know intuitively, or maybe your self-consciousness is hindered by todays technological Western world.

After 200 years of Industrial Revolution, can man seperate itself from the living planet?
No, and everyone has a "power Animal"

So whats yours?

Here's a great start if you are currently unaware

Re: What is Your Power Animal?

I always feel very connected to the monkey aspect of our human existence.
Also the scorpion and spider.
People always remind me of animals all the time.
Their faces, their actions.
Do you feel closest to the raccoon?

Re: What is Your Power Animal?

So weird. I knew this already but I didn't. Never looked it up or anything.
Nature just reflects personality and vica versa.

Re: What is Your Power Animal?

In the theology section I bring up The Golden Compass because Philip Pullman deals with this, even if obliquely as does Anthony Peake in his cheatingtheferryman blogspot, although he calls it the daemon and doesn't specify animal form anymore than does Carlos Castenada in his Don Juan books but both talk of shapeshifting and this links to 'were' animals as in wolves or bears in Europe and Leopards and Jackals in Africa - at least in my opinion.

I saw Sam Elliott interview with Charlie Rose yesterday, and Sam commented on the daemons. He said something to the effect that each person , via the daemon, have an analog animal body, that is, this is how the books represented it. Sam also discussed how the movie changed the ending and other specifics found in the books. Conditional on this films success, the other two books will get movies too.

The Redwall series by Brian Jacques plays well on animal forms.

Re: What is Your Power Animal?

I'd also like to add you probably shouldn't take calos castaneda seriously.
He was inspired greatly by shamanism, but his words aren't true.
His books were meant to be metaphorical.

I recommend "the art of dreaming"
so eloquent.
