We had a user level contest a while back, which pgrmdave won. We have now implemented the new user levels, with an automatic promotion system which gives you more access to different features at Hypography as your postcount goes up.

Note that members who are currently in Level 0 will...

Catch me on MSN and we can see about solving why you cannot access the user options.

As for the Posting Level 5 usergroup, you should not be able to see it under the public usergroups. When you reach 1000 posts, every hour the promotions cron task runs and will add you to the new usergroup. When you have been added, you receive all the privilages that usergroup holds.

You forget, FreeThinker has left us. We were too much for him. He said in one of his PM's to me that he was tired of endless debates. HE SEEMED TO HAVE LIVED FOR THEM!

Ahh, FreeThinker. He will be missed.

Re: Understanding the user levels

Freethinker was one of our most prolific members and really helped us gain momentum last spring. I see his point of view but think it is sad if he has chosen not to participate anymore.

He was a moderator and an admin for a while, too. But that's life, really - so far not a single admin has lasted longer than a year - except GAHD, who needs to get his post count up soon...

FT was one of the first people I interacted with here, I'll miss him.

That's too bad about FT. He was a little incendiary, but entertaining, none the less, and certainly got people involved in debates.

Ditto, I sent him a PM introducing myself within my first hour here and we got to chat for a while. I really do miss him .
