Dissappearing posts..

This morning I had 3,435 post and Clay had 4,496 - now I have 3,319 and Clay has 3,939.

These are the only examples that I could find quickly and easily but Im sure more have experienced the same thing.

So is there some cleaning up going on or what

what else would cause post counts to plumet?

Rep is disappearing too. Break out the DDT!

I see Buffy's count is down from 2,999 as well. Something's up.

If posts are deleted the associated rep goes with them.

Housekeeping, folks.

I reset the post count. I "lost" 200 posts in the process myself.

BTW nothing has been deleted so if rep is disappearing it is because you gain rep by reaching certain post counts.

what does it mean to 'reset the post count' and how is it that we loose some posts but not others, while you say that they arent been deleted

Yeah... can you give us a better idea as to what "tables are being dusted?" I've lost 3 rep points...

EDIT: Could have something to do with a big neg rep I didn't realize till just now. Never mind...

It could be part of the archiving process but I'm just guessing....

It simply means that posts are counted all over again. We haven't done this in a while. I guess one reason might be that the introduction forum does not count towards post count anymore. Another reason may be that you have responded in threads which have been deleted (spam threads etc). I don't think archiving will affect post count but I may be wrong.
