Do UVA rays tan the skin at all?

Do UVA rays tan the skin at all, or is it just the UVB rays that do it?

What are the warning signs of premature skin aging from the UVA rays ( not uvb). Would it be a safe assumtion that if you are not tan ( white from lack of sun) that you have a low risk of premature skin aging later on?
