the final run was from level 29 onwards, so no im not that much of a freak that can do the whole game with only 56 attempts

Re: Bored at work? Bloxorz

Bored, and can't get to the Interneet?

Here's something you can do with an old tired game to freshen it up. Solitaire.

You can reset the options on this game to "turn 1 card" on each turn instead of 3, turn ON the timer, and turn OFF scoring.

What you are playing is now Speed Solitaire. The idea is to win the game as fast as possible. How fast is possible?

Would you believe two minutes? Probably.
Would you believe 1.5 minutes? probably not.
Would you believe my best time is 51 seconds?
It is to laugh.

I regularly win the game about 1/3 of the time, and my average speed is under 80 seconds. I even have a scoring system:

I play a dozen (12) games in a "Set" and I score:
25 if my time is in the 50's of seconds;
10 if my time is in the 60's of seconds;
5 if my time is in the 70's of seconds;
3 if my time is in the 80's of seconds;
2 if my time is in the 90's of seconds;
1 if I win the game at all with a time of 100 or more seconds.

My best 12-game score is 53.

To play at these speeds, I turn cards at the rate of 1 every 3/4 second -- or even faster.
I don't fret a missed card play, but often keep on turning, making a mental note to catch that card on the next round.
I make mental notes as to what cards I'm looking for to increase my reaction speed when they pop up.
I do allow myself to undo the current move (turning 1 card too many) so I can play the previous card. This costs a lot of time so I do sparingly.
Clicking the right mouse key will auto-play to the Aces much faster than I can play them. I play with a finger (from different hands) on BOTH the left and right mouse keys.

Re: Bored at work? Bloxorz

I'm stuck at level 30 in Bloxorz...I can't see the path for this level...
So I opened another tab with gravity pods. I'm up to level 40 (wtf) and when I switched to another tab for awhile and then switched back to gravity pods, my spacebar does not fire.
My cannon moves and I can place and move the attractors and repellers, but no luck with firing the rocket. Anybody have this happen?
I refreshed the page and it gave me the option to start on level 1 or level 40. I chose 40 and still have the same problem. I'm going to try level 1 in hopes that it will not reset me with inability to jump to level 40. Fingers crossed...

Re: Bored at work? Bloxorz

A coupla times, I minimized Gravity Pods or called up another window, and when I returned, the space bar wouldn't work. I clicked on the Gravity Pods window title several times, and that seemed to fix it.

You were so right. 32 was not easy. It was, however, incredibly rewarding once I figured it out.

Thanks for the tip, Doug. Very neighborly of you, indeed. Fortunately, I had found my way through the level before I saw your post, but I appreciate your kindness all the same (besides, I tend to enjoy figuring out the puzzles on my own... see the "rewarding" comment above to Sanctus )

The screen looks much better when it's not just an attachment posted by someone else.

It looks like I will need some practice to catch up to your rocket scientist ass on this one! Good lord, man! I have found that the music helps me increase my pace. Do you play with sound (perhaps headphones)?

Seriously, Bill... Flights from Mexico don't last THAT long. Please don't leave us hanging any longer on this one. If I can resume, that'd help a lot.

That's where you're going wrong. You have to touch the cursor arrows.

Thanks again to freeztar for posting the cool block puzzle game. I really really enjoyed that one. Also, thanks to the others who tried out the other games and shared them here. As Jay-Qu said, these things are evil!
