Instant English!

A speedway rider from the Czech Republic had an accident that knocked him unconscious. When he came round, he could speak fluent English, which he couldn't before (Matej Kus is his name). This is well known enough to have its own name (xenoglossy) but I wondered if anybody had any thoughts on it? This I believe relates to some claims of past memory and seems to show that when censorship is removed from the brain, we are all capable of more than we know or are willing to admit consciously. It seems to me that the ghost in the machine is well into self-sabotage and shows that the mind may be a brilliant computer (see Autistic savant abilities for similar lack of censorship) but that the human side of a being is quite capable of wrecking its retrieval capabilities. From this point of view it may well be evidence that something else exists apart from mind and body (a soul?) but that this is not necessarily good news for our continued existence and well being or progress as individuals or societies.
