What do you listen to?

It seems that we constantly skirt around music but there has not really been a thread to talk about what you are listening to. Perhaps we could all trade some music info and find out about some new tunes?
(Perhaps this thred should be in the "Books, Movies, and Games" section, but I thought I might throw it out here to see if we get anything started).

Re: What do you listen to?

The music I listen two depends on my current mood. Do I wish for a little peace, or am I in the mood for somthing lively.

My first playlist consists of music from videogames (only the orchestrated pieces). Roughly 2/3's of the playlist are songs from Nobuo Uematsu (Final Fantasy Series), the rest is from Koji Kondo (Legend of Zelda), Akira Yamaoka (Silent Hill) and Robert Beanland & Chris Marlow (Conker's Bad Fur Day).

My second playlist for active days is comprised mostly of Classical Rock and Punk (One Techno Song). AC/DC, Deep Purple, Led Zeplin, Guns and Roses, Misfits, Offspring, Green Day, Chemical Brothers and our very own Tormod Guldvog.

Re: What do you listen to?

YEAH! I got some response so I guerss I'll go ahead and throw in some of my two cents worth.

Again it depends on my mood (Probably it does for everyone):

In a bad mood or angry: Punk... Dead Kennedys or the Buzzcocks (Many otheras but those two top my punk list).

Hanging out: Indie...The true masters of this genre have got to be Pavement and Slint. These two bands helped shape of today.

Reading or studying: Experimental Instrumental post-punk/ post-rock....Tortoise, Don Caballero, Godspeed You Black Emperor. Fabtastically complex, but very easy to be background to other things,...

and on and on.......

Re: What do you listen to?

i just bought the new "and you will know us by the trail of dead" album, and it is amazing.

these guys are the smartest musicians in rock right now, and they seem to make music for everyone to like.

www.trailofdead.com check it out. don't let the name scare you off, they're not death metal or anything.

LMAO! Lots of people do.
I'm a redneck at heart, so I love it.
But I'll blare it on my new 5.1 right now, just for you....

Repeat 4
{ If it hadn't been for Cotton-Eye Joe
I'ld been married long time ago
Where did you come from where did you go
Where did you come from Cotton-Eye Joe}

He came to town like a midwinter storm
He rode through the fields so handsome and strong
His eyes was his tools and his smile was his gun
But all he had come for was having some fun

Repeat 2
{ If it hadn't been for Cotton-Eye Joe
I'ld been married long time ago
Where did you come from where did you go
Where did you come from Cotton-Eye Joe}

He brought disaster wherever he went
The hearts of the girls was to hell broken sent
They all ran away so nobody would know
and left only men cause of Cotton-Eye Joe

Gotta work...

Now everybody dance!

Repeat 5
{ If it hadn't been for Cotton-Eye Joe
I'ld been married long time ago
Where did you come from where did you go
Where did you come from Cotton-Eye Joe}
Hmm?
