Anomalies in photographs

A friend of mine was in Northland NZ and she took a photo. She saw circles in the photo that she could not see visually. She took many more photos all with the same effect, in some photos shot within seconds of each other you can see that they move. I have a lot of these photos.

There's also photos of lights which I'll upload after I've sifted a few good ones. And two indoor shots at the same location that had at least one of the circular anomalies in each but I'm not sure if I have them here as well, but can get them.

So I'm baffled and she's baffled and he's baffled and frankly, we's baffled.

Can anyone shed some light on these?

They are dust orbs. That's how dust looks when it is close to a camera with the right lighting conditions.

You can get a lot of them in a dusty environment:



If you want to alleviate the effect you can lower the flash brightness, increase exposure time and lower your f-stop - if those are options on your camera.

Thanks modest. I thought they were organic from some of the larger images. Perhaps the dust is pollen.
