Happy 100th Birthday Model T Ford. See what you did!

Hard to believe that in another 100 years there will be no oil left.
All sated really by Ford and his methods
Perhaps the new USA president will pay everyone mere (like Ford did) so they can afford some gas to put in their cars.

Robert Lacey describes the character of Henry Ford. Ford believed in reincarnation and says he learnt all his skills in a previous life. He came from a technologically minded family and had the knack of transforming technology. He had a vision of a vehicle for the multitudes. He didn't invent the motor car, but did develop new ways of manufacturing, including the assembly line.

Robyn Williams: The Model T Ford. The first one was assembled 100 years ago on October 1st, and we had some of the story a few weeks ago on The Science Show with the promise of a Model T Ford rally in Echuca, Victoria, quite soon.
This time what about the man behind the revolution, Henry Ford himself? He was a really different kind of guy. Here's the author of the mammoth book Ford The Man and the Machine, historian Robert Lacey, about what was behind the man's success.

Robert Lacey: If you'd asked him, he would have told you it was reincarnation.
He's a weird spirit, Henry Ford I. His explanation of his genius is the sort of explanation that gets advanced to, say, explain someone like Mozart and why he was playing the piano at five. He said he learned it all in previous lives.
