They transmit disease at the 48 hour mark from what I've read. It's best to do a thorough 'search and destroy' before that buzzer ticks.

If you can remove the tick without squeezing the poison in , to me that is the way to go
Some tweezers with a forked front where you can get under the tick and rip it out-are the way to go. Failing that some dexterous long fingernails.
With my animals and cats it was always best to get it out quickly without squeesing it.
How often do you wander about with pyrethrum (mostly synthetic anyway) in your pocket?
I never told you this story
One year my witchy-wife got very "strange', wafting and ethereal, during a solar eclipse. she was amazed that asolar eclipse would have such an effect on her.
She was wafting off, doing all sorts of weird things. Communing with the astro-forces.
It turned out she had a tick in her head-hugely engorged.
So much for spiritual solar eclipses
