| Explaining | Re: A couple questions We Malaysians pronounce it as Hee-po-gra-fee. Note tthere is no emphasis. The sound 'gra' comes from sligtly further inside your mouth near the throat with a gaping mouth, whereas americans would use the roof of their mouths to get that twang. and oh, malay language does not have 'y' as a vowel. it is a consonant similar to 'h'. eg: 'shout' could be spelt 'syout'.
