Re: What's the best game ever made, in your opinion? And why?

Ahhhh, I'ma have to go with Final Fantasy VI. That'd be FFIII here. It had great characters with diverse personalities that were easy to get attached to, a great deal of enemies to beat down, many things to collect, an interesting storyline, and I loved the Esper system. Wow, what an argument there, everyone should totally go buy it. I mean, it doesn't sound like every other RPG ever. XD I'm not so convincing, eheh ^^;

But seriously, I still play it to this day. I also liked FFIX; it was a nice throwback to the older FF games, and a thorough enjoyment. But then again, I think that my favorite game series of all tiem is the Mega Man series. I have played almost every MM game (and EVERY one I could get my hands on). I'm a hopeless Mega Man X fan especially.

And then, there's D&D (also <3)

Then again, like mentioned, there's the classic Metroid (Grah! I love it! <3). . . Well, I'm significantly torn between choices. :/

Enough of me! I go.

Wink Re: What's the best game ever made, in your opinion? And why?

well now my fav board game will have to risk mainly because i enjoyed beating my dad at some thing for once as well as the idea tht i can take over the world

as for computer game it will have to be red alert 2 (online of course) or diabalo 2
i enjoyed diabalo so much because it was really simple and u got to bash things to death red alert 2 i seem to be attracted to the fact that i can show others i am not useless by beating them on this game i also enjoyed rome total war for the graphics and realistic consep

my fav consoul game would have to be out of star wars battle front and halo 2, battle front beacuse it is star wars and halo because it was so much fun to play i could loose my self in it for hours and think i had only just started even though it was not quit challenging enough

zelda 1 for NES
mario 1 for NES

command & conquer red alert 2: yuri's revenge for PC

Halo 2 "battle front"?

Anyway I fully agree! Great game! Loved it. I was even sad when it ended...but the ending was such a complete opening for a third game so it will come.

My only gripe with Halo 2 is that I thought it a bit less inventive than the original Halo - if only because it was mostly the same scenery, only less of it. It was a nice touch that you had to play as an alien, too...

Re: What's the best game ever made, in your opinion? And why?

I use to love playing Dungeons & Dragons on Atari, I spend hours and hours on that game. By the way, re the first message, itsn't N64 a newer generation console? Also Final Fantasy I and II were great games, all the ones after that (espcially the VIII and IX) were horrible. Oh wait, I guess the Dragon Warrior series on NES was probably where I spent most of my time, oh yea that and the Ultima series of games. I love the GTA games as well, I don't have san andreas yet, I heard it just came out for PC, I'm too cheap to buy it when it's 50 bucks, I'll wait until best buy has it for 19.99.

Re: What's the best game ever made, in your opinion? And why?

I might be a mean-ass megalomaniac, or even a despot in disguise, but I've got to go with Sid Meier.

I played Civilization I on my very first 286 back in the days when my XT didn't cut it any more, and it was still fun to code in GW-BASIC.

Nowadays, I still conquer the odd world in Civilization III - AWESOME game!

Not a whole bunch of action, turn-based as well (God forbid), but it pulls my suppressed World Domination strings. I think Hitler would've kicked ass in CIV3 - the dynamics of global warfare is just too cool! You've got to balance all the economic, social and environmental issues in order to wage war. I know - there's a lot of real-time games with the same dynamics out there, but seeing as this is turn-based, the level of detail is just so much deeper. It's not unheard of for one game to last two weeks. Seriously cool game.

...speaking of which, did any Hypo members maybe, by any chance, lay their grubby paws on Civilization 4 yet?

Funny, I just read a review of it. Must say it didn't appeal to me. I bought Civ III when it came out and frankly didn't play it that much.

One of my favorites at the moment is Forza Motorsport for the Xbox. Fantastic driving game!
