Great northern lights!

I live in Oslo, Norway, and tonight there are the greatest northern lights I've seen since I was a child. Sadly, the skies are partly clouded but I still got to see quite a bit.

This is of course due to the big solar storm which has hit the Earth.

I just came back from a trip up north where there is an atmospheric observatory, and we couldn't see a thing because of bad weather... But I was happy to see it down here.

Has anyone else seen the auroras recently?

Here is a good site about northern lights:

RE: Great northern lights!

Hoping they might reach down here into South Arkansas tonight, but doubtful...Hopefully though if I get a job that I'm applying for in Alaska this summer I'll be able to spot some (when it's dark).

On a bit different note, the Solar Flare has really been messing with stuff around here. Cell phones won't work, and the network at the college was completely down (may have been due to something else, just good timing).

Didn't happen to get any pictures for us to see did you?

I went out to a dark-sky site in hopes of catching the atmospheric display but, the aroura proved to be dissappointingly scarce.
